Raja Vaaru Rani Gaaru Review

Movie: Raja Vaaru Rani Gaaru

Rating: 2.5/5

Director: Ravi Kiran

Behind Screens:

Raja Vaaru Rani Gaaru, a small film starring newcomers Kiran Abbavaram, Rahasya Ghorak, Raj Kumar, Yazurved Gurram in the lead roles has managed decent buzz thanks to a good Trailer. The youthful romantic entertainer released today. Let us see how the movie is received by the audience.

Story:

Raja (Kiran Abbavaram) is in love with Rani (Rahasya Gorak) head to heels but he finds it hard to approach Rani and confess his love towards her. Rani leaves the village for Higher Studies. After a long wait, Rani comes back to the village. The Rest  of the story is all about – Will they ever confess their love towards each other? If yes, how do they?

Performances:

Debutants – Kiran and Rahasya stole the show. Kiran is effortless in the character of a shy lover while Rahasya is beautiful and performs decently. Rajkumar Kasireddy and the actor who is seen as the Hero’s friend managed good laughs.

Technical:

Director Ravi Kiran selected a wafer thin story and tried to make the story special with a beautiful Village Backdrop and nostalgic moments of the 90s. He is successful to that extent but he let himself down by penning several boring and predictable scenes. There is so much of lag in the proceedings as well. Music by Jay Krish is pleasing. The Background score in particular worked well. Camera work by Vidya Sagar and Amardeep is excellent. Some of the village locales are very well captured. The Editing has been patchy. The Production Values are appropriate.

Analysis:

Raja Vaaru Rani Gaaru has a tried and tested plot. As said earlier, the director, Ravi Kiran tries to give it a new spin with his near-to-heart narrative and screenplay. The story is revealed in first 15 minutes or so and from then, it becomes repetitive and boring. The comedy track between Naidu and Chowdary came up very well. The second half is a complete letdown with routine and predictable scenes. The comedy quotient is also missing in the second half making it a tedious watch. The climax is also predictable. Finally, despite the promise, Raja Vaaru Rani Gaaru failed to cross the line. The film has its moments and you can try to watch the film only if you can sit through slow and predictable proceedings.
