Rashmika Mandanna is a self-proclaimed feminist and on many occasions has raised her voice against misogyny and patriarchy shown in Indian movies. But the choice of her films is proving to be something else. Recently she was trolled severely for the dumb role she did in Sarileru Neekevvaru where her character was seen making a joke of something as heinous as rape.
Now her latest Kannada song ‘Karabuu’ from the movie Pogaru was released on YouTube recently and has been receiving immense criticism from all quarters. In the song, the film’s hero Dhruva is seen stalking Rashmika and trying to convince her to accept his love in many outrageous ways. Obviously, this has not gone down well with feminists and women’s rights activists, who have been demanding that the song must be taken down immediately and also removed from the movie.
It’s high time for Rashmika to realize that she must practice what she preaches. Rashmika… Neeku Arthamavuthundaa???
