Samantha Defends Tollywood on Casting Couch Allegations

Samantha who is now Akkineni Samantha is almost a decade old in the Telugu Film Industry. The actress who was recently married opened up about the casting couch allegations in the industry in an interview. Samantha went on to say that she did not have to struggle in the industry since her first film became a runaway hit. “I didn’t face such problem,” she said.
“Sexual harassment exists in every industry. Thankfully, industry and government have already taken a mechanism to curb this menace. Personally, I am of the opinion that this industry is safe for women. So, I am keen on continuing acting even after I give birth to a child,” Samantha added.
The actress already has a release this Summer in the form of Rangasthalam which ended up as the current non-Baahubali industry hit. She will be seen as a journalist in ‘Mahanati’ that is releasing this week and she will appear as Vishal’s lover in ‘Abhimanyudu’ that is slated for release this weekend. Her recent role in Rangasthalam is treated as one of her career-best performances. The appreciation for the role and her new responsibility as the daughter-in-law of Akkineni Nagarjuna ensured that she does not opt for glamour roles and concentrate only on performance oriented roles going further.
