Senior actor Kongara Jaggarao who starred as villain opposite great NTR has acted more than 480 films expired on Friday morning. 88yrs old Jaggarao’s last film was King Nagarjuna’s ‘Don’. Jaggarao was born in Morampudi, Tenali Taluk, Guntur district.He is also related to Late Kongara Jaggaiah During his childhood he joined Congress Seva Dal during freedom struggle and worked along with Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu, Gauthu Lachanna, NG.Ranga becoming their favourite disciple.When actor R.Nageswara Rao who was shooting for ‘Samajam’, suddenly expired, film makers completed it with Jaggarao. Later he starred as a sage in Bhakta Sabari.When he attracted NTR’s attention he won the role of Dussasana in NTR’s ‘Bheeshma’. From then onwards, there is no looking back as he became right hand of NTR. Wherever NTR used to go, Jaggarao used to be there. After NTR, Krishna encouraged Jaggarao offering roles in all his films. Similar is the case with Vithalacharya who casted him in many films. He casted him by replacing SV.Rangarao in the film ‘Sakshi’ which turned his career. Jaggarao shifted to Hyderabad along with Bapu,Ramana. Jaggarao used to play key role as a member of Film Nagar Housing society
