Behind the Screens

Young Heroes – Sundeep Kishan, Sudheer Babu, Nara Rohit, and Aadi are joining hands for a Multistarer film in the direction of Sriram Aditya of ‘Bhale Manchi Roju’. All the actors who are going through a lean phase in their careers have pinned high hopes on this film. Let us see how the movie, ‘Shamanthakamani’ releasing today fared with the audience.

Krishna (Sudheer Babu) goes to a pub in Hyderabad for a party but finds his five crore Rolls Royce vintage car stolen from the parking lot. CI Ranjith (Nara Rohit) takes up this case and starts investigating all the people who had attended the pub on that night. Among those who attended the party that night are Shiva (Sundeep Kishan), Karthik (Aadhi) and Car mechanic ( Rajendra Prasad) and are in the suspicious candidates’ list. What happens next in Ranjith’s investigation to find the car forms the rest.

Star Shine:

All the four heroes – Sundeep Kishan, Sudheer Babu, Nara Rohit, and Aadi have put good efforts to perform well in the roles they are offered but Sundeep Kishan, in particular, is very good as a street thug. Rajendra Prasad is good but his love story is awkward. Sudhir Babu does not sound good in emotional sequences. Nara Rohit walks through the character of a cranky police officer. Aadi is okay as a lover boy. Tanikella Bharani and Suman were okay. Chandini Chowdary, Indraja and Annanya Soni have got limited characters and have nothing much to do.

‘Bhale Manchi Roju’ fame Sriram Aditya came up with a Crime Thriller for his second film. Crime Thrillers need to entertain the audience as well as keep them guessing. But on most occasions, the story is predictable. The first half, in particular, is not that great but the second half is interesting with a good number of twists making the film an average fare. Having four heroes turned to be tricky as the director failed to give them enough depth and space to create an impact.

Sriram Aditya will get decent marks as a director even though there are some shortcomings. Dialogues are fun and the background score by Mani Sharma enhanced the effect. Editing is crisp. The camera work is impressive as most of the film happens in Night Mode. Production Values are good.
