Behind the Scenes:
Bellamkonda Sreenivas is yet to taste the success in his little career so far. Despite his best efforts, he is unable to bring the audience to theaters. He is once again trying his luck with his new film, Sita for which he teamed up with Teja who recently made a comeback with Nene Raju Nene Mantri. Let us see how Sita is received by the audience:
Sita (Kajal Agarwal) is a rich brat who is an epitome of arrogance. She suddenly runs into trouble and signs a contract with Basavaraju (Sonu Sood) to overcome it. But then, the contract becomes the headache for her and to counter Basavaraju, she brings in Ram (Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas). Rest of the story is all about how Ram helps her to get over Basavaraju and how their relationship ends up.
Bellamkonda Sreenivas gets a role which is tough for an actor of his caliber. Teja’s actors always have great characters and it is also the case now. Bellamkonda struggled big time and some of his expressions, dialogue delivery will make the serious scenes funny and funny scenes awkward. He is, however, good in action and dances. Kajal has got a good character. Even though it is not a memorable performance, it still stands out in this disappointing effort. Payal Rajput’s item song has been disappointing. Sonu Sood gets a routine character which he did umpteen times in the past. Bithiri Satti’s comedy works here and there, Tanikella Bharani is good and Bhagyaraj is okay in a little role.
Teja is known for extracting good performances from his artists but not fully successful here. The movie has got a routine story and he tried to give a different touch to the hero character by showcasing him as a man-child with exceptional physical abilities. He struggled to narrate it interestingly since the performances do not allow the audience to get into the story which is already routine. Anup Rubens songs are boring and the background score is a bit better. Camera work has been decent while the editing is patchy throughout the film. A good portion can be trimmed. Production Values are grand.
The first half of the film is okay despite having nothing novel but Teja gets derailed completely in the second half as the proceedings go nowhere and the length taking a toll on the audience. The breaking point comes in the Pre-Climax. Things get worse and there are walkouts from the audience already. Unless you have loads of patience to sit through a very badly made film, give it a miss.
