SVSC Review ‘Simply Slow’

Movie:            Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu

Rating:           3/5

Director:         Srikanth

Behind the screens

Wait is over for Tollywood’s first ever multi starrer after two decades. Movie lovers have been waiting eagerly for the film Seetamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu starring Mahesh Babu,Venkatesh well beautified by Anjali and Samantha. Already Mickey J Meyer’s tunes started ringing across the state. Let us see what Srikanth Addala of has got to offer.

 Story Line

The film is set in the backdrop of Relangi, a small village in West Godavari district. Peddodu(Venkatesh),Chinnodu(Mahesh) both sons of Relangi Mavayya(Prakash Raj) and his wife (Jayasudha), are poles apart. Both do not inherit the qualities of Prakash Raj as Venkatesh is rigid and believes what he does is right getting emotionally charged when opposed, while Mahesh is diplomatic and gets things work in his favor with an artificial smile.

While Venky loses many golden opportunities due to his nature thus becoming laughing stock in front of relatives, to make matters worse Geetha(Samahta) daughte of rich Rao Ramesh, brother in law of Prakash Raj fall in love with Mahesh. Venkatesh’s unemployement forces Prakash Raj to look for matches fo Seetha(Anjali) whom he brings up when she lost her parents. However Geetha is in love with Venkatesh.

In the midst of all this Prakash Raj meets with an accident. What happens next and whether sirimalle chettu blossoms beautiful flowers spreading fragrance should be watched on silver screen.

Star Shine

Mahesh Babu is charming and cast a magic spell with his looks. His dialogue delivery is awesome and once again makes everyone tickle with laughter with oneliners. Samantha is beautiful and her cute expressions showing emotions of love and hatred at the same time is excellent. Venkatesh performed well as a emotionally charged man while Anjali expressed herself well. Prakash Raj,Rao Ramesh,Jayaprada,Rohini Hattangidi,Tanikella Bharani,Murali Mohan and others did their job to perfection.

Srikanth Addala once again loaded the film with full of emotional scenes just like in ‘Kotha Bangaru Lokam’. The way the emotions play vital role in the well being of the family in real life are highlighted in the film finds appreciation by one and all.Sirkanth Addala extracted good performances from Prince Mahesh Babu and Victory Venkatesh in the crucial scenes involving both of them. However lack of commercial enterainment for most of the film except for Mahesh Babu’s role and slow second half pulled the film back. The film goes on predictable storyline with no real twists thus weakening the plot.

Production values are good. Mickey Meyer’s music is beautiful and the songs are shot quite well. Martand Venkatesh editing is ok while cinematography of Guhan beautified the film.

Movie Marks

SVSC is a sentiment and emotions filled family entertainer. Performance of the movie will be depending on how much sentiment and slowness will be recieved by the movie lovers.
