Final Talk: The first half of the film was a bit slow-paced with not much story except the pre-interval episode but the second half picked up the pace and maintained the momentum till the climax with good action scenes and direction. The climax is emotional but might turn out to be a bit over-the-top for millennials who are exposed to world cinema. Chiranjeevi has done a magnificent job and rightly justifies his title Megastar. Though his getup looked odd in some scenes he covered it up with good performance. Among the others, Vijay Sethupathi and Sudeep got meaty roles. Tamannaah overshadowed Nayanthara as far as histrionics are concerned. The production values are world-class and we have to appreciate producer Ram Charan’s efforts to make his father’s dream come true by producing such mega-budget film. The songs are situational and the BGM gave the much-needed patriotic feel to the movie. The story of the film is not very new and we have seen such innumerable films in the past. But we can’t expect more from outdated writers like Paruchuri Brothers. Sai Madhav Burra has written good dialogues. Surender Reddy has done a decent job handling such a huge budget film and he succeeded. The film is watchable for its grandeur, action scenes, good patriotic flavor and of course Megastar. But if more care was taken in terms of the first half and some action scenes in the second half, Sye Raa would have been a Blockbuster. The film will do well because of the hype and holiday season but how far it will go only time will tell.

First half Report: The film opens interestingly and then slips into boring narration and melodrama in between. There is a lag whenever the romantic portions are being shown. The film picks up nicely before the interval. The interval bang is good. The action episodes are the highlight of the first half and they give enough kick to the Mega fans. If the second half carries the same momentum and if the war scenes have come out well then we will have a solid winner in the form of Sye Raa.
