Tax Exemption for Mahanati in Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh government has felicitated the team of Mahanati which made a beautiful Biopic of Legendary Actress Savitri. After honoring the team, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has announced the Tax Exemption for the film in Andhra Pradesh. Savitri’s daughter, Vijaya Chamundeshwari is also present at the event which happened in Savitri’s native place. The movie will be exempted from the SGST component of the GST imposed on Film Tickets which means the film will get 50% of the GST Exemption effectively. Mahanati is the first film in Telugu to get Tax Exemption after the implementation of GST.

On this occasion, the makers have announced 50 Lakhs Donation for the construction of Amaravati to the State Government. Mahanati is doing well at the box office even in the third week of its release. The movie is inching towards the 40 Crore Share Club. The movie has recovered all its investment from the non-theatrical revenues itself and so it is a huge profit venture for the makers who have released the film on their own. At the USA Box Office, the movie is inching towards the Two and a Half Million Dollars Gross. Mahanati is the most profitable film this year in Telugu in terms of Return on Investment.
