Tenali Ramakrishna BA BL Movie Review

Tenali Ramakrishna BA BL

Movie: Tenali Ramakrishna BA BL

Rating: 2.5/5

Director: G Nageswara Reddy

Behind Screens :

Sundeep Kishan is without a proper hit for a long time. He has joined hands with G Nageshwar Reddy who is known to be a minimum guarantee director with comedy genre. Their film, Tenali Ramakrishna is releasing today. Let us see how the audience receives it in the theaters.

Story:

Tenali Ramakrishna (Sundeep Kishan) is a petty lawyer without any cases. He earns a living by compromising the parties in long-pending cases. Once he happens to take up the case of Varalaxmi (Varalaxmi Sarathkumar). It is a murder case and the rest is all about the changes that come in Tenali’s life due to the case and how he faces them.

Performances:

Sundeep Kishan has got a tailor-made role and he walked through it effortlessly. Hansika is seen in Telugu after a long time and she gets an insignificant role. Varalaxmi Sarathkumar gets a crucial role and she performed well. However, her role is badly written in the second half. Murali Sharma, Raghu Babu, Kinnera are okay in the roles they are offered. Vennela Kishore, Posani, Satya Krishnan, and Chammak Chandra managed few laughs here and there. Sapthagiri and Prabhas Seenu were very good.

Technical:

G Nageshwara Reddy picked up a routine story for the film. But it is the case with all his previous films. Most of them only run on comedy but even that is a letdown in Tenali Ramakrishna BA BL. The entire proceedings are predictable and the comedy is strictly average except for a couple of blocks. References to KA Paul, Jagan’s Kodi Kathi Episode, Grama Volunteers, etc are funny. Sai Kartheek’s songs are routine while the background score is passable. The camera work by Sai Sriram is good. Chota K Prasad’s editing is patchy.

Analysis:

Tenali Ramakrishna has got a passable first half with comedy working out here and there. The interval twist is also fine. But things go out of hand in the second half. Even though the second half starts with another key twist, it loses steam very quickly due to silly proceedings, over the cop comedy, age-old narration and abrupt climax. All this makes Tenali Ramakrishna BA BL a below-average fare.
