August Box Office Fight In Tollywood

Generally, sentiments play a key role in Film industry, almost all 24 crafts people in the film industry blindly believe the sentiment. Now, one such sentiment is creating Hungama in Film Nagar circles. The news is, usually, in Tollywood film industry July and August months in every year are said to be dry months without huge business because no big holidays or festivals fall during these months. Producers don’t dare to release their film in these months.

But this year 2017 is turning as a lucky year for Tollywood if we keep drugs case aside, almost all the films released in First half of this year turned as money minting machines for producers. These so called non-season months July and August are going to witnessing star wars at the box- office, around August is completely packed with crazy films.

So far Analysts expected that Aug, 11th will witness star wars as a long weekend and five days holidays are tempting the film makers. But our film makers are proving that they more intellectual than analysts by kick starting box-office fight from the first week of August onwards (August 4th onwards).

In the first week on August 4th, the competition is in between Sukumar’s production ‘Darsakudu’ and Krishna Vamsi’s directorial ‘Nakshatram’. Next week on August 11th is filled with some big films like Nithin’s ‘Lie’, Rana’s ‘Nene Raju Nene Mantri’ and Bellamkonda Srinivas’s ‘Jaya Janaki Nayaka’.

Interestingly, all these 3 films are carrying huge expectations on them. On August, 18th, Sunil’s ‘Ungarala Rambabu’ and Tapsee’s ‘Anando Brahma’ will face each other at the box-office. The last week is expected to have Naga Chaitanya’s ‘Yuddham Saranam’ and Nara Rohit’s ‘Kathalo Rajakumari’ locking horns. Apart from these films Allari Naresh “Meda medha Abbati” and some dubbing films like “VIP 2”, “Vasukhi” and others are getting ready for August release.

The trend of theaters getting increased after cinema talk is gone as the film’s success range is getting decided by the first weekend collections. So trade analysts are of the opinion that it is difficult to allocate theaters to all the films, especially in single screens. Undoubtedly theater allocation problem arises and more than 9 films release in a single month may affect the collection records of all the films.  Let us wait and see who will win this August Box- Office fight!!!
