It won’t take a genius to observe that Anushka Shetty is edging out Trisha in K’town. The spunky actress, who was associated with a toothpaste brand, was replaced by Anushka on the advertisement recently. The familiar TV commercial features Anushka asking people if they have salt in their paste, an endorsement that Trisha had bagged earlier. This should be a reason for worry for Trisha as the tinsel town evaluates an actress by the brands she promotes. Losing out on brands reflects the dipping fortunes of a celeb.However, Trisha’s mother, Uma Krishnan, takes umbrage to this scale. She says, “Trisha is still the hot favourite of Tamil film-makers and offers are pouring in. Coming to the brand in question, we have been endorsing it for three years. Despite a break, we still maintain cordial relation with the brand. We have to move on in life and she’ll sign a jewellery brand and others to redefine her branding profile.”
She also points out that the Telugu version of the ad is still being aired.
