Union Govt announced Padma awards following Republic Day conventions. According to latest information following are the winners of Padma awards, highest presented to civilains.

Its a proud moment for Tollywood as Ramanaidu known as Movie Mogul won the third highest civilian award. The Guinness Record holder’s name was nominated of the honor along with director Bapu by the AP Government in November last year. The legendary filmmaker hold the Guinness World Record for being the most prolific film producer in the world with over 130 films to his credit. He was conferred the Dada Saheb Phakle Award -country’s highest award in cinema – in 2010.

Even Tollywood ace filmmaker Bapu who made a comeback with Balakrishna starrer Sri Ramarajyam was also awarded the Padma Shri Award. The filmmaker who films are known for their Telugu nativity, have won many National Awards. Yesteryear superstar Rajesh Khanna and Sharmila Tagore have also been awarded the Padma Shri awards.The selection committee this year included actress Ratna Pathak Shah, scientist Anil Kakodkar and home secretary R K Singh, among others. Mean while Sridevi has been awarded the padma Shri Award – the fourth highest civilian honour in the country- this year in recognition of her stellar services to Indian cinema.
