Veedevadu Movie Review

Movie: Veedevadu

Rating: 2/5

Writer and Director: Tatineni Satya

Behind the Screens

Sachin Joshi is trying his level best to get his foothold in Telugu Film Industry for a long time but only to churn out back to back disasters. The actor had pinned high hopes on his today release, Veedevadu which is also releasing simultaneously in Tamil. Let us see how the movie fares with the audience.

Satya (Sachin Joshi) is a professional Kabaddi Player who falls flat for Shruti (Esha Gupta). He somehow manages to impress her and get married. But then, the twist in the story comes when he kills Shruti on their first night as well. Why did he do that? What happens later in his life? Forms the rest of the story.

Star Shine:

Sachin Joshi is okay in a role which has an unstable personality and he delivered decent performance. Esha Gupta is gorgeous. Even though this is her first film down the South, she did a good job with the lip sync. Srinivas Reddy entertains here and there. Kishore is impressive as ACP. Others are okay.

Director Tatineni Satya came up with a good concept but faltered totally in the narration. The first half will give you an okay feel but the second half turns out to be very disappointing without any interesting sequences. Only the last 10 minutes or so is the face saver for the second half. The sequence of hero playing Kabaddi in jail with big officers looked silly.

As said earlier, director Tatineni Satya failed in the script work and narration. Thaman had delivered some decent songs in the album. The background score is also decent. Binendra Menon’s camera work is very good and gives a rich feel to the film. Pravin Pudi did a decent job with the editing. Production Values are good.
