Rahul Ravindran might have never imagined that he would go on to direct Nagarjuna in the sequel of Manmadhudu(2002) which was released when Rahul would have been in college.
Nagarjuna’s performance as a woman-hater who goes on to fall head over heels in love with the creative director of his company, played by Sonali Bendre in the original, is rated as one of his finest ever. Rahul reveals some bytes about the film saying “Manmadhudu is remembered for its comedy, especially the scenes involving Nagarjuna and Brahmanandam. In my version, Vennela Kishore will be seen in a highly entertaining role. The episodes between Kishore and Nag will leave the audience in splits.”
Rakul Preet Singh replaces Sonali Bendre as the lead. Talking about her role, Rahul says, “Rakul plays this funky, energetic and street-smart girl. She has an author-backed character that is vital to the film’s story. Actress Lakshmi too has been roped in and will play Nag sir’s mother in the film. We will start shooting in a few days, and I can’t wait for it.”
Trust us, Rahul, even we can’t wait to watch the film.
