Vijay’s upcoming film Mersal is in trouble. A case has been filed against the film in Madras High Court after A day after the release of the much-awaited teaser of Mersal. Madras High Court also issued Stay from using the title ‘Mersal’ for distribution and publicity purposes until October 3, when the case will be up for hearing.
Rajendran, a petitioner, has filed an affidavit in Chennai seeking an interim stay on the film Mersal claiming that Makers has used the title Mersal without proper registration. He claimed that his production company AR Film Factory had bought the title ‘Mersal Aayitten’ from Green Apple Pictures in 2014 and registered in 2015.
While this news comes as a shocker for many, it isn’t surprising for Vijay fans. In the past, several Vijay films including Thuppakki, Kaththi and Thalaiva, have faced several hurdles before release.
