Kamal Hassan’s emotional statement yesterday seems to have made some impact on Kollywood film industry which till now has been silent. However since yesterday many Kollywood illuminaries visited Kamal’s office and were seen engaged in discussions with each other on how to come clean on entire issue.Today morning CM Jayalalitha’s assurance that she had no personal grudge on Kamal and will allow screening of the film the moment both parties arrive at the solution came as a relief. Chandra Hassan’s Rajkamal Films International chose Ameer to represent in talks with Muslim leaders and requested TN Home Secretary to mediate discussions.
Viswaroopam developments for TN release
Earlier the day saw hectic activity with representatives of the various unions in the Tamil cinema industry like the Nadigar Sangam, FEFSI and the Directors Union working joining hands for the release of the film. All went to Kamal’s office at Eldams road though Kamal left for Mumbai to oversee his film’s Hindi version release.
Radhika, Sivakumar, Karthi, Prabhu, Madhavan, Prem, Ameer, Bala, Gnanavel Raja and Prasanna decided to meet CM Jaya but waited for her say on the whole issue. Kamal’s team kept him abreast of the developments. Radhika was representing the Nadigar Sangam in the absence of her husband Sarath Kumar while Ameer represented the FEFSI. Those present were firm that the industry was fully behind Kamal in this issue and that they won’t leave him at any cost.Prabhu said that Kamal has always been a revered figure in the industry and that there might have been an impression of inactivity in the film industry because they were all waiting for the law to take its course. Yesterday also saw plethora of actors, producers, directors and even technicians make beeline at Kamal’s office.Vairamuthu, Prabhu, Sivakumar, Karthi, Simbu, Vijayakanth, Sneha, Prasanna, Khushboo, Sundar C, Mani Ratnam, Arvind Swamy, Surya, Cheran, Ameer, Sri Priya and many more registered their solidarity after Bharathiraja took the initiative leading from the front. Yesterday’s midnight discussion saw personalities like Sarathkumar, President of South Indian Artiste Association, Radha Ravi, Secretary of South Indian Artiste Association, Ameer, President of FEFSI, Surya, Karthi, Sivakumar, Raadhika Sarathkumar, Chandra Hassan, Sri Priya, and UTV chief Dhananjayan. Most surprisingly Kamal, on whom entire controversy is revolving, was not present in the meet. It has to be seen whether Viswaroopam Tamil version see light with Hindi version or not?
