Movie: W/O Ram
Writing and Direction: Vijay Yelakanti
Behind the Screens:
Lakshmi Manchu is one actress who continues to churn films one after the other irrespective of their results. She is trying her luck once again at the box office this weekend with a thriller, W/O Ram. Let us see how the audience reacts to the film releasing today.
Ram (Samrat Reddy) and Deeksha (Lakshmi Manchu) love each other and get married but Ram passes away in an accident. Deeksha strongly feels Ram is murdered. When Police get no evidence, she herself investigates the case just like how the Police do. What are her experiences in this journey and if she will be able to prove her claims forms the rest of the story?
Lakshmi Manchu came up with an impressive performance as a widow who is in the shock of her husband’s sudden death and later turns investigative officer for justice. Priyadarshi is impressive as the constable who helps her. All the other characters including the villain Adarsh do not have much significance.
The movie is technically strong. Background Score, Cinematography, and Editing have worked very well for the film. Some of the scenes, however, can be cropped to make it more effective. Due to these scenes, the audience will get a tedious feel and also because there is no comedy at all. Production Values are appropriate.
The movie is heavily inspired by Bollywood film, Kahaani structure but the story is different. The climax of the film is very good and the director seems to have done reverse engineering to build the rest of the story. The start of the story and the twist, in the end, are impressive but the scenes in between could have been a lot better. As Deeksha begins her investigation, there are not much surprise elements for the audience, as a result, we feel the movie runs at a slow pace. Those who watch till the end patiently will like the film.
