We have already finished Sankranthi Season and all the festival releases are struggling in the working days and their run will be complete by the end of the coming weekend. Pawan Kalyan’s Agnyaathavaasi has collected 55 Crore Share till now and may collect 2-3 Crore Share more by liberal estimates. Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Jai Simha has collected over 23 Crore Share in its first-week share and at most may touch 30 Crore Share in its full run. Suriya’s Gang may collect 8-9 Crore Share at max in its full run. Rangula Raatnam is already a spent force and is a huge disaster at the box office. That is evidence that all the four movies put together may not even touch 100 Crore Share.
In contrast, Sankranthi Season in 2017 did 200 Crore Business Worldwide. All the Sankranthi releases last year resulted in huge profits to everyone involved in the trade. So, this Sankranthi can be termed as weakest in the recent times and has disappointed the trade big time. Agnyaathavaasi alone will result in over 65 Crore losses to the trade. It has to be seen if the releases of Republic Day Weekend will be able to bring some cheer to the trade.
