Her paintings have also been on display at Daira Art Gallery, Banjara Hills.
The acrylic on canvas paintings are based on the definition of true love in the New Testament of the Bible in First Corinthians chapter 13.
“There are several qualities of love. It is these qualities that make love what it is. In my paintings, couples are shown brought together and bound together by those very qualities of patience, understanding, forgiveness, caring and sharing,” says artist Maria Clara.
In the series of `The Greatest is Love’ that she has done, the colours are vibrant as well as soothing – all the capture the genuine feelings of true love.
“My idea is doing the paintings is to highlight the qualities of love,” Maria Clara says.
According to First Corinthians chapter 13 this is the definition of love:
Love is patient and kind;
It is not jealous
or conceited or proud.
Love is not ill-mannered
or selfish or irritable;
Love does not
keep a record of wrongs.
Love is not happy with evil,
but is happy with the truth.
Love never gives up.
And its faith, hope,
and patience never fail.
Love is eternal.
These three remain:
faith, hope, and love;
The greatest of these is love.
