World Famous Lover Review

Movie : World Famous Lover

Rating : 2.5/5

Director : Kranthi Madhav

Behind the Scenes:

Happening Hero Vijay Deverakonda did not taste proper success ever since his Geetha Govindham which released a couple of years ago. He pinned all hopes on World Famous Lover which has Love and Pain as the Central Theme, a tested theme of his Arjun Reddy. Let us see how the movie releasing today will connect to the audience.

Gautham (Vijay Deverakonda) and Yamini (Raashi Khanna) fall in love during their college days and later start a live-in relationship. Gautham quits his job to be a writer but things go haywire later on as he struggles to write anything. Yamini breaks up with him and then, Gautham reinvents the writer in him in that pain. What happens later in their love story forms the rest.

Vijay Deverakonda performed well in the characters which had enough scope for him. The Telangana slang in the Seenayya character is too good and the pain he portrayed in Gautham’s character is good but then it reminds us of Arjun Reddy Character. Raashi Khanna has got a character with substance and she is decent. Aishwarya Rajesh is excellent in the role of an innocent housewife. The other two ladies – Catherine Tresa and Izabelle Leite are wasted. Priyadarshi is okay in a little character.

Technical Performances:

Kranthi Madhav is known to be a sensible director and he picked a novel approach to present the love and pain of a estranged lover. Even though it is a good idea, he failed to translate into the big screen and also failed to narrate it consistently. A story like this needs a strong writing which is not present as well. Gopi Sunder has disappointed with the songs and the Background score is a bit fine. Editing should have been a lot better. The film feels a lot lengthy. The camera work is fine. Production Values are appropriate.

The first half of the film starts on an interesting note but the director entered into Seenayya track even before the audience connect to the Gautham’s character. The track is lengthy and lacks novelty. The second half further tests the patience of the audience with too many tracks and by the time of the climax, the audience gets exhausted. There are a few good moments throughout the film but the director failed to coherently narrate them. The length is also a culprit there. The movie may connect to Vijay Deverakonda’s fans who reminisce Arjun Reddy but the common audience may find it tough to relate.
